Collecting Photos
Once you determine the total number of photos for you movie, you can determine the quantity to use for each chapter. Start by determining the chapters you would like (sports, prom, homecoming, friends, etc.) and then divide the pictures up accordingly. Its usually best to start with the individual student pictures. This typically includes the student's graduation picture along with a baby picture. You may also want to allow each student to submit 1 or 2 additional favorite pictures along with that. Once this overall quantity is determined, you can distribute the remaining pictures over the other chapters....for example; 20 pictures for clubs and organizations, 80 pictures for sports, 15 pictures for Elementary, etc. To help determine the quantities for each, its helpful to break each chapter into segments where applicable. For example, you may want to break sports up into segments such as boys and girls basketball, football, golf, volleyball, etc.
If necessary, you can then adjust the overall number of pictures you would like in your movie.
You can then begin the process of collecting photos from students. Its best to pre-determine the number of pictures each student can submit. A volunteer parent or teacher committee can make the final determination of which pictures, music and videos will actually be in the final production of the Video Yearbook. This helps to guarantee that every single child is represented and no single child is overly represented.
You must organize and submit your photos accurately labled to indicate which chapter they belong to and numbered to make certain they are in your preferred order. Its a good idea to have each student record their name on the back of each photo.
When organizing individual student photos (senior, baby pics), include names referencing each. We can include the name of each student pertaining to their photo segment.
